Acknowledgments

A Web site like this doesn't just fall together. We take a moment to thank everyone who is helping make Little M a success.

Thanks first of all to Metropolitan Washington Mensa's Executive Committee for wholeheartedly supporting my Web site proposal. They could have hemmed and hawed interminably but were genuinely enthusiastic.

Special thanks go to former Local Secretary Stephanie Smilay for keeping the project on track during construction.

We owe Eric C.S. Dynamic (root@ecsd.com)a debt of gratitude for offering to set up and host our Web site without charge.

To U.C. Computers in Berkeley, California, Eric's computer store, our thanks for providing the equipment and high-speed Internet connection.

Mary W. Matthews (wisdom@smart.net), Associate Webmaster Supreme, gets a special nod. Without her design skills, editorial savvy, knowledge of Mensa and devotion to our local group, this site would be far less interesting and appealing.

To MWM's BBS operators, our thanks for paving the way when the road was a lot rockier. Dave Aronson, Dick Holt, and Irvin Koch have been at this PC communications business a lot longer than we have. They basically pioneered the whole notion of Mensans meeting Mensans in cyberspace.

To those already on the Web who have built sites we can study and who have answers to our questions, thanks for making it easier for us. It's a wonderful thing to press a button and receive ideas, tips, and cautions from people with more experience than we have.

Let's not forget the producers of computer hardware and software whose equipment makes all this technology possible. You know the usual names: Apple, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Sun, and so forth. We also acknowledge the long-distance providers, Internet Service Providers, and on-line services like AoL, CompuServe, and Prodigy who are bringing us all a little closer together. No matter what you think of their equipment, their software, their services, or their business practices, it's clear these techno-corps have rebuilt society in a very short time. I think we're better for it.

Lastly, thanks to you for tuning in and for (hopefully) contributing to Little M. You've demonstrated your interest in PC and communications technology by finding your way to this page. With your input this site will grow and prosper. I hope you'll consider Little M to be a new member of MWM whom you'd like to get to know.
